Recital Day Reports

March 11th St Mary's Church, Luton

Stephen Turner, Luton branch secretary and Roy Meek, NSOS Trustee (standing), were among the 15 recitalists who played at St Mary's Church annual organ school composite recital.

Music from across 4 centuries was enjoyed by an audience that came and went throughout the day.

There was a good mix of experienced performers and students from the school, taking the opportunity to explore such an impressive instrument.

The 3 manual console is detached, but mobile, situated at the front of the South Aisle for the recital.

Some of the pipes are visible to the rear, others housed behind the screen below and in a similar arch to the right (south).

The second arch carries these spectacular horizontal pipes.
