2-manual organ; Order Book 10, p122, job 715 (1905); plate 'NORMAN & BEARD Ld'
'1906'; cost £430; opened by Mr Frederick Gostelow, 19th February, 1906;

The British Institute of Organ Studies has recently initiated a scheme for compiling a register of important historic organs in the United Kingdom. The intention is similar to that of the listing of historic buildings, i.e. to alert the owners and custodians of instruments to their significance and to discourage inappropriate alterations. More positively, it is hoped that this listing will strengthen the case for financial assistance in the conservation and restoration of the listed instruments. This organ has such a certificate, awarded in 1998.
